Tourists making a Tibet tour are required to wear different clothes to cope with the special climate in different seasons on Tibet Plateau. The scenic spots you are planning to visit are also closely related to your dressing since the altitude greatly determined the temperature. Obvious temperature difference between day and night is one of the characteristics for Tibet climate. The temperature between day and night even reaches 15 Celsius in winter. In fact, Tibet enjoys a pretty warm winter compared to several cities in northern China for there is always lovely sunshine in Tibet even in winter though the temperature would drop rapidly after the sunset.
Tibet has been selected as one of the best summer resorts in China for it enjoys a cool summer. The scenic spots with high altitude, such as Lake Namtso, Mt. Everest or Mt. Kailash are relatively colder than the regions with lower altitude. Tourists planning to visit these spots should prepare warm clothes to cope with coldness all year around. Tourists with relatively weaker physical condition are highly advised to make a Tibet tour between June and October for the climate is relatively pleasant and the oxygen content in the air is relatively higher during that period on Tibet Plateau.

Underclothes: long-sleeved T-shirt or shirt. Tourists could also prepare the thermal underwear to cope with the low temperature in the night.
Pants: leisure or sports pants. Thin johns should be prepared in case of need in June. The johns are not necessary in July or August.
