    Today, your tour will include: the Bund and the famous Nanjing Road, Tianzifang and Stone Gate in Xintiandi Plaza.
    -The Bund (the word “Bund” was derived from Anglo-Indian word meaning quay): where the great trading houses and banks had their headquarters in 1920s and 1930s, about a mile long, it is the city's fulcrum.
    -Nanjing Road: known as “China's No.1 Shopping Street”with a huge of merchandise on sale.
    -TianZiFang: on the Lane 210 of Taikang Road with many old Shanghai style buildings, such as Shikumen, converted from a cluster of factory workshops, warehouse and residential houses, this place is another SOHO for local and international artists, most of whom are in the designing industry. Visitors can find a variety of shops that feature products designed by young talented artists, ranging from clothes, accessories to jewelry and souvenirs. And there are many nice cafes, bars and restaurants as well.
    -Stone Gate: the most typical Shanghai style house, it originates from the European style architecture with the combination of local cultural elements. This building style got very popular since 1920s. Nowadays, there are still around 40% Shanghainess living in these houses.

  • Day 3:Shanghai/Lhasa

    This morning, you will pay a visit to Caoyang Residential Area where you will visit one local family, go to buy food for lunch with the hostess or host, and prepare your own lunch with the family. Later you will take The Qinghai-Tibet railway to Lhasa.
    -Caoyang Residential Area: the first residential area established in 1952 for workers in China after the founding of P.R.C., within nearly 40-year development, now it boosts with 718 buildings and 110,000 inhabitants, and also the other facilities such as: hospitals, schools, libraries, shops and different units. The inhabitants nowadays are not only workers, but also teachers, doctors, authors and so on.

  • Day 5:Arrival Lhasa

    Arrival Lhasa
    Upon your arrival at train station this afternoon, you will be met by your local guide and transferred to the hotel in Lhasa city (2-hour drive). After checking in the hotel, rest in the afternoon to get adapted to the high altitude.
    -Lhasa: the capital of the Tibet Autonomous Region with an elevation of 3650 meters (12,000 feet) above the sea level, nicknamed Sunlight City, it is the highest city in the world. This ancient sprawling city, settled 1,300 years ago, is the region's political, economic and cultural center as well as a sacred place of Tibetan Buddhism.

  • Day 6:Lhasa

    Lhasa  (B)
    Today’s activities will include the Lhasa’s cardinal landmark -- Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and flourishing Barkhor Street.
    -The Potala Palace: the symbol of Lhasa, perched upon Marpo Ri Hill, 130 meters above the Lhasa Valley, it is the greatest monumental structure in Tibet and one of the most famous architectural works of the world. The construction of it was started in 641 AD and was rebuilt by the Fifth Dalai Lama in three years, while the Thirteenth Dalai Lama extended and repaired it into what it is now. As the religious and political centre of old Tibet and the winter residence of Dalai Lamas, the palace witnessed the life of the Dalai Lamas and the important political and religious activities in the past centuries.
    Potala Palace also houses great amounts of rare cultural relics including the gold hand-written Buddhist scriptures, valuable gifts from the Chinese emperors and a lot of priceless antiques.
    -The Jokhang Temple: located in the center of the old section of Lhasa, built in 647 AD by Songtsen Gampo and his two foreign wives, and later extended by successive rulers, it has now become a gigantic architectural complex and it is the spiritual center of Tibet.
    -The Barkhor Street: a circular street around the Jokhang Temple in the center of the old section of Lhasa, it is the oldest street in a very traditional style in Tibet, where you can enjoy bargaining with the local Tibetan vendors for the handicrafts which are rare to be seen elsewhere in the world.
    Barkhor Street is one of the most important religious paths along which pilgrims walk around Jokhang Temple while turning prayer wheels in their hands through centuries. Buddhist pilgrims walk or progress by body-lengths along the street clockwise every day into deep night.

  • Day 7:Lhasa

    The whole day tour will first bring you to the Norbulingka Park, and then the Sera Monastery. Pay a visit to a Tibetan Family.
    -Norbulingka Park: Norbulingka means "Jeweled Garden", built in 1751 AD as a summer palace for the Dalai Lama where they handle
    -Sera Monastery: Sera means "Wild Rose Garden" in Tibetan because lush wild rose woods once grew around it, the monastery is one of the three largest monasteries in Tibet. Located at the northern outskirts of Lhasa
    -The Tibetan Family: You will be greeted and warmly welcomed by common Tibetan people in their traditional way. Then you will entertain with their typical food as snacks.

  • Day 8:Lhasa/Chengdu

    Today you will say Good-Bye to Lhasa and transfer to airport for flight to Chengdu, upon arriving in Chengdu, local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel for a rest before visiting Jili Old Street, and Wenshu Temple where you can spend some time sitting in its tea house to enjoy a cup of tea.
    -Jinli Old Street: located in Chengdu combines the ambience of ancient and modern China. Jinli Old Street was constructed in 2004 in the traditional architectural style of Sichuan Province during the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). Jinli Old Street is not only a wonderful reminder China’s past, but also a great place for people to fully appreciate Sichuan’s customs and folk arts.
    -Wenshu Temple: Chengdu's oldest and largest Buddhist temple originally built in Tang Dynasty, however, it is now a Qing Dynasty construction with exquisite relief carvings decorating many of the buildings. You can absorb the very atmosphere of Chengdu here: the temple is full of local worshippers burning incense on certain days, the tea house at the back of the complex is a great place to relax yourself and do some people watching, while the streets outside are filled with blind fortune-tellers, hawkers selling joss sticks, paper money and statues and so on.

  • Day 10:Lijiang

    Lijiang (B)
    On this day you will be driven to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. After, you will visit the ancient Baisha Mural Paintings. Later you will visit the Black Dragon Pool Park and the Museum of Naxi Dongba Culture located inside the park.
    -The Jade Dragon Snow Mountain: it is so called because it looks like a flying jade dragon from afar. The mountain consists of 13 peaks and sprawls 35 km from north to south, its glacier is the modern oceanic glacier closest to the equator in the Northern Hemisphere. By taking the cable car up to certain height, you can enjoy the expansive mountains views and snowy scenery.
    -The Baisha Mural Paintings: located in Baisha Township, 8km north of Lijiang, there are altogether 53 groups of mural paintings in different temples with fine and smooth lines, bright colors, vivid pattern and harmonious composition. Painted from the early days of the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) to the early Qing Dynasty (1644-1911), these mural paintings are an artistic representation of the different religious cultures such as Buddhism, Lamaism, Daoism and the Naxi Dongba religion.
    -Black Dragon Pool Park: where you can see the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain from afar and the reflection of the mountain in the pool in a clear day, this park is the source of the water system of the Old Lijiang Town as the clean spring from Jade Dragon Snow Mountain gathers here.

  • Day 11:Lijiang-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Shangri-La

    Lijiang-Tiger Leaping Gorge-Shangri-La (B)
    In the morning you will be driven to the town of Shigu (Stone Drum) to view the stunning First Bend of the Yangtze River and Iron Chain Bridge. After, you will visit the Tiger Leaping Gorge, the deepest gorge in the world, then you will have about 3 hours trekking from Tiger Leaping Gorge to Tiger Leaping Shi (Tiger Leaping Stone). In the late afternoon, you will be driven to Shangri-La (2 to 3 hours drive).
    -Shigu (Stone Drum) Town: Standing on a green hill, overlooking the First Bend of the Yangtze River with terraced rice fields on the mountains, the town has witnessed many historical events as it has been a natural ferry and a fortress to be seized by the strategists since ancient times. Its sites of interests include Iron Chain Bridge and Opera Platform built in Qing Dynasty, Stone Drum Pavilion and so on.
    -First Bend of the Yangtze River: formed by the Yangtze River rushing down from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau with a sharp turn of 45 degrees at Shigu (Stone Drum) Town before the river continues running on to northeast.  
    -Tiger Leaping Gorge: 92 km north of Lijiang County, between peaks of over 3,000 meters above the Jinsha River (upper course of Yangtze River), the legend goes that tigers often leap to the other side of the river by a huge rock lying in the middle of the river at the entrance of the Gorge, hence the name, this 17-kilometer-long Gorge is honored as the deepest and one of the most marvelous gorges on the earth.
    -Zhongdian (Shangri-la County): the capital of Diqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, where there are beautiful snow mountains, vast grasslands, plateau lakes, and exotic Tibetan customs, recently it has got the name Shangri-la which means "the sun and the moon in the heart" in Tibetan language.

  • Day 12:Shangri-La

    Shangri-La (B)
    On this day you will be driven to visit the picturesque Bitahai and Shudu Lakes, followed by a visit to the ancient Gedan Songzanlin Monastery. In the evening, be warmly welcomed into a Tibetan family’s home.
    -Bita Lake: 35km away from the County, meaning "the place where roburs become felts", it is a lake surrounding by mountains with clear water and abundant fish resources.
    -Shudu Lake: Shudu Lake (35km away from Zhongdian) is a calm lake surrounded with pastures, and forest flowers. If there is one word to describe Shudu Lake, it would be heavenly. Its deep-blue waters resonate a sense of calm and Zen.
    -Gedan Songzanlin Monastery(Guihua Monastery): first built in 1679 AD and has been rebuilt many times, it is the biggest and the most important monastery of Tibetan Buddhism in Yunnan province. The architectural style of the building is a faithful imitation of the Potala Palace, so it is called as "the Small Potala Palace" and "Tibetan Art Museum".

  • Day 13:Shangri-la / Deqin

    Shangri-la to Deqin (B)
    In the morning, you will be driven ( 5 to 7 hours) to Deqin County(3400m altitude) through Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve. You will be able to view Baimang Snow Mountain if the weather is clear when you are passing the toppest part of today at 4292m altitude. The view along the way is fantastic with different kinds of trees, streams down the valley, prayer flags and stupas, and Tibetan villages.
    -Baimang Snow Mountain Nature Reserve: one of four National Nature Reserves and the biggest reserve with the highest altitude in Yunnan. The difference between its highest peak and lowest place is 3380m, thus it features with different climate, animals and vegetations depending on the altitude. With stretching ranges, Baimang Snow Mountain is taken as the holy symbol by Tibetans.

  • Day 14:Deqin

    Deqin (B)
    Try to get up early in the morning and drive about half hour to Feilai Monastery to view the magic sunrise of Meili Snow Mountain. Then drive another 1.5-hour to Mingyong village, where you will walk on the trails for about one hour to the bottom of Mingyong Glaciers, walk another one hour or so, you will get to Tibetan Taizi Monastery-another good spot to view the magnificent Mingyong Glaciers. (You can choose to hire a horse to go up to the glacier on your own expense in order to save your energy.) After the tour, get back to Deqin County.
    -Feilai Monastery: built in Ming Dynasty, located 10km away from Deqin County, it is one of the best spots to view Meili Snow Mountain.
    -Meili Snow Mountain: located on the border of Yunnan and Tibet, one of the eight holy Tibetan Buddhist mountains. Legend says that the snow mountain is a god guarding Tibetan Buddhism. Every year, thousands upon thousands of pilgrims from Tibet, Qinghai, Sichuan and Gansu come here to pay homage to the mountain. Meili Snow Mountain consists of 13 peaks, of which the sharp Kawa Karpo Peak is the main peak with an altitude of 6740 meters. In Tibetan language, Kawa Karpo means "white snow mountain". Kawa Karpo Peak is the highest peak in Yunnan, and famed as "the most beautiful peak in the world", due to its precipitous cliffs, frequent avalanches, thick fog and cloud, heavy rain and storms, the peak remains a "virgin peak".    
    -Mingyong Glaciers: one 12km-long glacier of Kawa Karpo Peak snaking from 5500m high down to an altitude of 2700m into the forest in winter, a glacier of this size is rarely seen at such low altitude. For thousands of years, the mountain and glacier has been a pilgrimage site for Tibetan Buddhists.

  • Day 15:Shangri-La / Kunming

    Shangri-La to Kunming (B)

    Transfer to airport for flight to Kunming, and then you will pay a visit to Kunming's famous Stone Forest, a bizarre rock formation created over millennia of rain and weather.
    -Stone Forest (Shilin): a 270-million-year-old limestone karst formation of tightly bundled gray rocky outcrops, a natural wonder acknowledged as "World Karst Landscape Museum", the Stone Forest shows a variety of unique shapes such as sword, mushrooms, tower, pillar, castle representing the greatest miracle that the nature can present to human beings.
