Property Safety

The public security in Tibet is pretty good, but it is also very necessary to pay enough attention to the property safety in case of any property loss. Tourists planning a Tibet tour should note that there are many people in the hotels and the scenic spots in the high season and tourists should better take care of your own valuables. Visitors in Lhasa are strongly suggested to bring your wallet, mobile phone and document bag with you. Generally, tourists have to rest in different hotels during the Tibet tour, and tourists should always take your belongings before check-out.

Diet Safety

Tourists should drink enough water throughout the Tibet tour so as to better adapt to the high plateau environment characterized by dry air and insufficient oxygen. Taking some fresh fruits could protect tourists from the possible environmental inadaptability. Visitors should also have meals in restaurants with better sanitary condition. In addition, tourists are suggested not to take any wild fruits in case of any intoxication. According to professional doctors, taking digestive food and beverage with rich carbohydrate is quite helpful for better adaptation in Tibet.

Shopping Safety

Generally, there are shops sailing various souvenirs near the scenic spots. Tourists are highly advised not to touch the valuables carelessly while selecting the art wares. Enough comparison could protect visitors from any fraud. Tourists willing to purchase some Tibetan medical materials or health care products are strongly suggested to choose some standard shops and keep the shopping invoice.

Fitness Care

It is necessary to prepare some commonly used medicines in case of any need during the Tibet tour. In consideration of the severe natural environment in Tibet, tourists older than 60 years are strongly suggested to take a comprehensive physical examination and get professional advices from the doctors. In addition, tourists suffering severe hypertension, coronary disease, diabetes, chronic lung diseases, bronchial asthma or some other respiratory diseases are not suitable for travel to Tibet. Besides, tourists suffering any cold symptoms are suggested not to travel to Tibet before completely treated.

The climate on Tibet Plateau is characterized by obvious temperature difference between day and night. Tourists making a Tibet tour should prepare warm clothes to cope with the low temperature in the night and at the mountain passes with high altitude. It is said that even mild cold symptoms might cause severe high altitude sickness. It should be noted that the medical condition is pretty limited in the remote areas in Tibet. Therefore, tourists planning to travel to the remote areas with high altitude are strongly suggested to prepare a first-aid kit in advance.

Tourists traveling to Tibet from the plain areas with lower altitude might be attacked by different levels of high altitude sickness, such as hard breath and choking sensation in chest. But that does not mean visitors can't get adapted to the plateau environment. Generally, these mild uncomfortable symptoms will disappear gradually in 2-4 days. For tourists suffering serious high altitude sickness, it is necessary to go to the hospital for regular treatment as soon as possible.
