Ngari Tour - Best Location of Photographing Tsaparang

The Viewing Platform of Tsaparang

The Viewing Platform of Tsaparang is about 30 kilometers away from the county town of Zhada. It will cost one hour to drive there. The Viewing Platform of Tsaparang is one of the best locations to photograph the wonderful work of nature - Tsaparang. The time of sunset is about at 21:00. If you want to photograph the sunset glow at Tsaparang in Ngari Tour, please pay attention to prevent wind. In addition, the road condition from county town to Viewing Platform is not very good. The altitude may suddenly drops for several hundreds meters. So, you are not suggested to drive back to the county town at night when you have Ngari tour.

Ruins of Guge Kingdom

The Ruins of Guge Kingdom is about 20 kilometers away from the county town of Zhada - Tuolin Town. Since the road between Ruins of Guge Kingdom and Tuolin Town is unpaved road, it will cost about 40 minutes to drive to Ruins of Guge Kingdom. If you spend the first night in Zhaburang Village, you can walk to Ruins of Guge Kingdom in the second morning to photograph sunrise at Tsaparang. Furthermore, there are many earth forests in a variety of postures around the Ruins of Guge Kingdom. You also can use long focus lens to photograph them.

Places near Tuolin Town

On the bank of Xiangquan River on north side of Tuolin Town, there are red and white pagoda of Tuolin Monastery and relics of pagodas. It is a good location to photograph sunrise and sunset. The prayer flags, mounds of Mani Stones, pagodas and earth forests form the most distinctive scenery in Zhada.

Ngari Tour - Plan of Photographing Tsaparang

Tsaparang and Ruins of Guge Kingdom are must-visit sight spots in Ngari tour. In general, it will cost about five days to drive from Lhasa to Ngari.

There is a viewing platform at the place where is about 30 kilometers away from Tuolin Monastery. Photographers can first stop there to photograph and spend one night there. Then, go to photograph the Tsaparang at Ruins of Guge Kingdom in the second morning.

After photographing the sunrise at Ruins of Guge Kingdom, go back to county town from Ruins of Guge Kingdom. On State Road 219, photographers can photograph the Tsaparang from reverse direction. Except for Tsaparang, you also can spend some time to photograph the sight spots near Tuolin Town. In conclusion, the Tsaparang and Ruins of Guge Kingdom are marrows of Ngari tour.

Ngari Tour - Feature of Tsaparang
