Anduo County

Located in northern Tibet, Anduo County is noted as the North Entry of Tibet. Anduo County covers an area of 0.1 million square kilometers. It attracts a large number of tourists with its rich wild animal resource.

Anduo County is about 135 kilometers away from Nagqu Town, 464 kilometers away from Lhasa and 703 kilometers away from Golmud. Both the State Highway G109 and Qinghai-Tibet Railway cross through Anduo County. Covers a large area, Anduo County has complicated topography. The endless grassland, beautiful lakes and rivers, and the amazing glaciers in Anduo County composed a pretty fascinating natural landscape. Anduo Prairie is one of the four largest grasslands in Northern Tibet and the utilizable grassland here covers an area of 45,000 square kilometers.

Natural and Cultural Tourism Resources in Anduo County in Tibet

Anduo County is a natural kingdom of wild animals. Tourists making a Tibet tour here will have the chance to witness the wild yaks, Tibetan kiangs, blue sheep, argalis, foxes, black bears, wild rabbits and so on. Famous Mountains in Anduo County in Tibet

Tanggula Mountain

Tanggula Mountain means the mountain on the plateau in Tibetan. It is the watershed of the famous Yangtze River and Nu River. Connected with the magnificent Kara-Kunlun Mountains, Tanggula Mountain presents a pretty distinctive natural landscape. The west section of Tanggula Mountain acts as the watershed of the interior drainage and external drainage of Northern Tibet while its east section acts as the watershed of the Indian Ocean drainage and the Pacific Ocean drainage. Tanggula Mountain is the source of the Yangtze River, Lantsang River and Nu River.

Hoh Xil Mountain

Hoh Xil Mountain is the traverse the northeastern Tibet and middle-east Qinghai Province. It starts from the Mutzetag Peak (with an altitude of 7723 meters) in the west and ends at the Qinghai-Tibet Highway located between Chumaer River and Tuotuo River in the east. With an average altitude of 6000 meters, the Hoh Xil Mountain stretches 500 kilometers from the east to the west.
