Trekking Tour from Tingri to Everest Base Camp (2)

Tashizom means "a lick place" in Tibetan. Tourists could eat some hot dishes in the restaurants at Tashizom. Tourists could rest in the guest houses though the accommodation is pretty limited. For tourists didn't rent a yak in the precious day, it might be a good choice to rent a yak here. For tourists couldn't continue the trekking any more, it is a solution to catch a vehicle to Mt. Everest Base Camp. There are many vehicles running between Everest Base Camp and Tingri in the peak season of Mt. Everest tour.

Set off from Tashizom to Everest Base Camp, tourists have to trek in the mountain valley in the following two days. The winding path in the magnificent mountain valleys always leaves tourists deep impression. There is a turning after 20 minutes walking from Tashizom, the tourists trekking to the Base Camp should choose the left road. After about 2 hours trekking, tourists will reach the Baksum Village – the administrative center of the upper Zhaka Mountain Valley. There is a guesthouse in the village provides simple food for visitors.

Day3: Zhaka Mountain Valley – Quzom Village (15kilometers, 3-4hours trekking)

About 20 minutes trekking away from Baksum Village, there is a big turn heading toward the south. Tourists will encounter with a small cement structured bridge. There is a mountain valley entrance about one our trekking away from that small bridge. Pengyia Village is about 30 minutes trekking away from the valley entrance. Most of the tourists would like to take a night halt at Quzpm Village which is not too far away from Penggyia Village. There is a small guest house in the village provides berth and simple food for visitors.

Day4: Quzom Village – Rongbuk Monastery/Mt. Everest Base Camp (12-20 kilometers, 3-6 hours trekking)

Tourists making a Tibet trekking tour from Tingri to Everest Base Camp have to hike along the uphill path to the Base Camp from Quzom Village. After about 1.5 hours trekking, tourists will find that the trekking path finally meets the highroad. Tourists still need 2.5 hours to finish the trekking journey between the bridge and Rongbuk Monastery – the highest monastery above the sea level. For tourists willing to spend the night at the Base Camp rather than take a night halt in Rongbuk Monastery, two more hours trekking is needed.

The period between May and September is the peak season of Mt. Everest tour. To enjoy the amazing sunset and sunrise landscape of Mt. Everest, most of the tourists would like to spend a night at Rongbuk Monastery or Everest Base Camp. Tourists planning a trekking tour are strongly suggested to bring the tent and sleeping bag with you in case the berths in Rongbuk Monastery Guesthouse are full booking. For the protection of the ecological environment of Mt. Everest Natural Reserve, tourists choose the trekking tour from Tingri to Everest Base Camp should never drop the rubbish carelessly.
