How many traffic ways to enter Tibet and how can we be driven in Lhasa City? In general, you can take the Qinghai-Tibet Train or take the flight into and out of Lhasa City. During Tibet tour, you can enjoy the bicycle experience and rickshaw experience.

Traffic in Tibet

Plane

There are flights from Beijing, Chengdu, Xian, Guangzhou, Shanghai, Kunming, Hong Kong and Chongqing to Lhasa, and there is also an international flight from Lhasa to Kathmandu. There are two return flights from Chengdu to Lhasa a day and it takes about 2 hours one way.

Airport

The airport is 97 kilometers from downtown and it takes 50 to 80 minutes by car. You could pass by the Qushui Bridge, which is the longest bridge across River Yarlung Zangbo River and enjoy the natural scenery, you can even park your car at Zhuoma Lakang and Nietang big Buddha for sightseeing.

Flight tickets

Tickets could be booked at the flight tickets agencies or Dongga airport. Shuangliu airport at Chengdu also sells tickets.

Bus

You can take the shuttle bus with tourism signs from Chengdu, Xining or Gelmud to Lhasa and the journey normally takes 3-5 days. Sweaters should be prepared in summer time and duck down coat should be prepared in wintertime.

Rickshaw

Rickshaw is the supplementary travel tool in Lhasa. It is quite convenient for you to travel with luggage to a small street where the bus could not reach. The price is 3-10 Yuan.

Bicycle

Most of the people in Lhasa go to work or go out by bikes. The roads in Lhasa are smooth and bicycle lanes are separated by green belt from the major way. But on narrow roads, lanes are kept for bicycles. Foreign guests at hotels could rent bikes.
