Tibet Tour Travel Diary - Potala Palace Visiting

Update: Aug. 21st, 2014
On the first day in Lhasa, we visited the essential attractions of Lhasa City - Potala Palace, Jokang Temple and Barkhor Street. It is easy to get the Potala Palace tickets during the low season of Tibet tour. About 9:00, we started to climb Potala Palace. There were quite a few more people than they are in other scenic spots. Well, we know this is the highest land of the world, so we walked very slowly. About half an hour, we arrived at the top of Potala Palace. After took a rest for a while, we were deeply impressed by the amazing scenery overlooking this city. There were very few green trees, but many barely mountains around. No high buildings, no luxury clothes, no loud noise, or fast car speed. We talked less in Potala Palace because we knew we should respect their belief here. Also, we were told not to took photos in there.
The butter smelt a little terrible and the light was weak in it. Even though you don't have any guide, you can follow and listen to other guide's. Don't wear the slippers or skirts into Potala Palace or Jokhang Temple. Potala Palace and Jokhang Temple are very similar.
In the afternoon, we visited Bakhor Street and had some drinks in Markey-Ame. The story of Markey-Amy's was wonderful. You can find many travel tips and best wishes in the notebooks in Markey-Ame. Maybe you can find ours.
In the evening, many stores closed very early but you can spend good time in the bars at Barkhor Street.
