It is approximately 130 kilometers far from Ranwu Town to Bome County. It may be the first relaxing day during Tibet tour, as there are many down slopes. In addition, you will ride through the forests in most of time. Lots of beautiful snow mountains and white glaciers, Anmutso Lake and Palong Zangbo River will be greatly appreciated today.
After passing Ranwu Town, you will ride along Anmutso Lake and finally meet the headstream of Palong Zangbo River. G318 National Highway (Sichuan-Tibet Highway) is actually available along Yarlung Zangbo River.
Palong Zangbo River
Zhongba Village is approximately 53 kilometers far from Ranwu Lake. Songzong Town is about 33 kilometers far from Zhongba Village, available at K3965. Bome County is about 43 kilometers far from Songzong Town.
Today you will have a chance to enjoy the amazing Midui Glacier scenic spot. It may take you few hours if you want to climb to the top of the glacier.
Please pay attention that you will pass some water areas today. You are highly suggested to push your bicycle toward instead of riding in the water.
Bome County
Bome County is the last region before we reach Lhasa City during Tibet tour. Nyingchi Prefecture is the most important forest zone of Tibet. G318 National Highway (Sichuan-Tibet Highway) is available in the forest area.
As for the accommodation, we kindly recommend Bome Shanshan Hostel for your reference. It is located nearby the People's Hospital of Bome County. It costs about 150-200 RMB per person.
It is the asphalt road from Bome County to Tongmai Natural Barrier today. You'd better check your brake performance and other safety qualities. Before you leave Bome County, you can see the monument of the starting point of Medog Highway. Medog is the last county which established the highway system of China.
After passing Bome County
There are the attractive primitive forests on both sides of road after you leave Bome County. Many breathtaking sandbars scenery will be also appreciated along the way.
K4075 is the only one "S" slope today. It is about 2 kilometers long. A little dangerous but not very risk. Be careful.
After passing K4086, there is gravel road. You will cross the collapse area. In general, the road condition is better in June than it in July and August.
The asphalt road will be appeared again about 4 kilometers far away. You will see a lot of reeds when you are close to Tongmai Natural Barrier.
If you are earlier in Tongmai County, you could keep going to Pailong Village. It takes about 2-3 hours, all gravel roads. Pailong is the entry way of the viewing place of Yalung Zangbo River.
As for the accommodation, we kindly recommend the Tourist's Post house across from the Tongmai Army Service Station. It is a beautiful quadrangle dwelling, very unusual. It costs about 200 RMB per person. The hot water and free internet are provided there.
