The regular public buses are only available between Lhasa and Shigatse, as well as Sakya and Shigatse, while other timetable is not very stable.
In general the public bus between Lhasa and Shigatse sets out about half and hour everyday.
The small minivan vehicle usually sets out without any empty seat. It is about 77 kilometers away from Shigatse to Gyantse, which costs about 2 hours. The road condition is relatively better than the wat to Mt. Everest Base Camp, which is asphalt road.
There are about two buses every day between Shigatse to Zham, which respectively at 08:30 and 15:30. It takes about 9-10 hours on the way via Nyelamu.
About 3 buses are running every day between Shigatse to Sakya, the time is 08:30, 11:30 and 15:30. It takes about 3 hours on the way.
Only one bus is available between Shigatse and New Tingri. It takes you about 5 hours on the way. But there is no public bus from New Tingri to Rongbuk Monastery, thus we kindly suggest you have a car from Shigatse to Mt.Everest.
There are 2 buses respectively running at 09:30 and 15:30 every day. It takes about 3 hours.
