Leibu Valley

Leibu Valley is a famous scenic area on south side of Kanggerduo Mountain in Cuona County, Shannan. In Tibetan language, Leibu means "good place".

Leibu Valley – Brief Introduction

The Leibu Valley is with pleasant climate, rich species, beautiful mountains and rivers, singing birds and fragrant flowers. It remains green throughout the year, with various blooming azalea, jasmine flowers, Chinese rose flowers and other nameless wild flowers. That's unique of plateau. When you are walking along the road in the original forest with ancient trees and bamboo forest, you will see precipices, frisky monkeys and running waterfalls everywhere. These waterfalls are partly hidden and partly visible among high mountains and lofty hills and vast forest, as if ribbons of fairies, making this natural gallery full of vitality. This is the Leibu Valley.

Leibu Valley – History of Leibu Valley

According to legends, the Leibu Valley was the place of practice of Padmasambhava. There is a waterfall at the place of practice of Padmasambhava. In the midwood leading to the waterfall, you will see various places of paying formal visit. In the thin fog, you will feel like getting the baptism of god. In May and June, there is the ocean of azalea. Different varieties of flowers in various colors are comparing their beauty. It will leave you special feelings.

Leibu Valley - Culture

Leibu Valley is also the main habitation of Menba Nationality. There are unsophisticated people of Menba Nationality living in the Leibu Valley. The ethnic culture of Menba Nationality is distinctive. They have own dialect, culture, costume, etc. When you visit the family of Menba Nationality at this beautiful place, to dance a Menba Dance which is gentle and spread sometimes and impassioned sometimes, to drink a cup of pure barley wine and taste a hot local pancake which made up of buckwheat. All of these will make you reluctant to leave.
