Qushui County

Lhasa River

Qushui literally means "the aqueduct with flowing water" in Tibetan language, it is located in the inland of Tibet region, the lower reaches of Lhasa River and the north of the middle reaches of Yarlung Zangbo River. It covers1624 square kilometers, where the agriculture acreage is 66700 mu (1 mu ≈ 0.0007 square kilometers), woodland area is 19000 mu, and the grassland is 1600000 mu. The lowest elevation of this valley is 3500 meters, and the highest elevation of the peak is 5894 meters high. The daily range of temperature shows very obviously, and the sunshine appears relatively higher. Therefore when you travel to Tibet, you'd better take both of the thick coat and T-shirt as well. With the strong sunshine radiation, it is approximately 3000 hours of the sunlight in a year. The frostless period is short and the mean annual precipitation is about 441.9mm.

Tibet Qushui County - Brief Introduction

Tibet Qushui County is located in the lower reaches of Lhasa River, the north part of the middle reaches of Yarlung Zangbo River. It covers an area of 1624 square kilometers. The terrain of Tibet Qushui County is higher in the east part and west part than the middle part. Most of the area of this county is flat as it is situated in the valley zone of the middle part of Yarlung Zangbo River. One of the mountain ranges of Mount Nyenchen Tanglha is available throughout the north part of Tibet Qushui County. There are 7 streams flowing in the south part of this county, which finally flows into Lhasa River and Yarlung Zangbo River. The ravine features many alluvial fan slope in different shapes. The attractions of Tibet Qushui County include Lhasa River and Yarlung Zangbo River, both of which attract lots of visitors to visit.

Tibet Qushui County - Climate

Tibet Qushui County is located in the plateau temperate semi-arid monsoon climate zone, which features obviously difference in temperature in day and night. The sunshine duration is long and the sun radiation is strong. The frostless duration is 150 days and the mean annual precipitation is 441.9mm. The general natural disaster has hailstone, mountain torrents, debris flow, drought, windy and dusty, plant diseases and insect pests.

Tibet Qushui County - Geography

Lhasa River and Yarlung Zangbo River flows through Tibet Qushui County. Meanwhile, one of the mountain ranges of Mount Nyenchen Tanglha is available throughout the north part of Tibet Qushui County. Mount Nyenchen Tanglha is located in the middle part of Tibet plateau, and stretches from the west to the east approximately 600 kilometers long. It is the watershed of Yarlung Zangbo River and Nu River. It also divide Tibet region into three parts, Northern Tibet, Southern Tibet and Southeastern Tibet.

Lhasa River

Lhasa River is originated from Mount Nyenchen Tanglha and flows through Nagqu, Dangxong, Linchou, Mozu Gongka, Datse, Chenguan, Duilongdeqing, and Tibet Qushui County. It is one of the larger braches of middle reaches of Yarlung Zangbo River, about 495.2 kilometers long. It covers an area of 31760 square kilometers. The highest elevation is 3581 meters which is the highest river of the world. The lowest elevation is 3581 meters. It is one of the most recommended worthy attractions for your reference during your Tibet tour, as it is believed and loved by local people very much.

Yarlung Zangbo River

Yarlung Zangbo River is originated from ice snow mountain of the northern slope of the middle part of Himalaya Mountain Range. It looks like a silver dragon. It flows into the south part of Qing-Tibet Plateau including Tibet Qushui County and then flows out of China into India, Bangladesh. It finally flows into bay of bengal.
