As one of the most developed cities in China, Shenzhen enjoys a pretty advanced transportation system. Tourists could travel between Shenzhen and Hong Kong, Guangzhou or some other domestic cities conveniently.

Transportation of Tibet Tour from Shenzhen – Air Transportation

Tourists planning a Tibet tour from Shenzhen should note that the flight between Shenzhen and Lhasa has been opened on January 21st, 2013. Though this flight is not a direct flight and it will take a stop at Chengdu, it also provides great convenience for tourists making a Tibet tour from Shenzhen by air. It is reported that the Lhasa-Chengdu-Shenzhen flight would be available every day. It would starts from Lhasa Gonggar Airport at 9:30 a.m. and get to Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport at 11:20 a.m., then fly to Shenzhen from Chengdu at 12:30, finally arrive in Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport at 14:35 p.m. The return flight between Shenzhen and Lhasa would set off at 15:35 p.m. and arrive in Lhasa at 20:55 p.m. after a one-hour stop in Chengdu.

Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport is one of the four big air freight centers in China. It has opened more than 120 international and domestic air lines. The direct flights between Shenzhen and more than 90 cities both at home and abroad have been opened. Tourists planning a Tibet tour from Shenzhen could fly to Shenzhen from some large international metropolis directly and then fly to Lhasa after sightseeing in Shenzhen.

Transportation of Tibet Tour from Shenzhen – Railway Transportation

There is no direct train between Shenzhen and Lhasa. Tourists willing to choose the train transportation to Lhasa need to take the train in Guangzhou. It only takes about 80 minutes to get to Guangzhou from Shenzhen by the high speed rail. Tourists board on the train leading to Lhasa from Guangzhou need to spend about 55 hours on the train. Though it is much more time-consuming compared to enter into Lhasa by air, tourists taking the train to Lhasa could spend less transportation budget.

To ensure a more comfortable journey by train, tourists making a Tibet tour from Shenzhen by train are strongly suggested to book a soft sleeper ticket in advance. The train tickets to Tibet are always in large demand in the peak season of Tibet tour. The train between Guangzhou and Lhasa would departure from Guangzhou Railway Station at 13:07 p.m. on the first day and arrive in Lhasa Railway Station at 21:00 p.m. on the third day. Tourists will also have the chance to have a glance of the landscape of Changsha, Wuchang, Zhengzhou, Xi'an, Lanzhou and Xining.

Tourists making a Tibet tour from Shenzhen by train will have the chance to appreciate the breathtaking natural landscapes along Qinghai-Tibet Railway – the highest railway above the sea level. The picturesque landscapes at the Qinghai Lake Sightseeing Area, Yangtze River Source Sightseeing Area and Qiangtang Prairie Sightseeing Area would make the lifetime train journey more impressive.
