The Traffic in Tongjiang is Broken Off

Update: Jul. 8th, 2014

With the rainy season coming, the traffic in Tongjiang along No. 318 National Road is broken off because of landslides. On the morning of Jul. 1st, the mountain is collapsed near Tongmai Bridge and Nu River. About 80 cars and two hundread people were stopped in Bome Prefecture. After 7 hours working, the traffic starts to operate again and all people are evacuated.

As far as you know, July, August and September are the best time to travel to Tibet, but also the rainy season of Tibet as usual. In Nyingchi Prefecture, landslides happened sometimes during rainy season. In consideration of tourists' safety, Nyingchi Prefecture is not suggested to tourists. If you plan to travel to Tibet in July, August, and September, we kindly recommend Lhasa, Lhasa suburb, Mt. Everest Base Camp, Namtso Lake and Shannan Prefecture.
