It is approximately 47 kilometers far from Luding to Kangding. You need to pass through a tunnel after leaving Luding. There is not any light in the tunnel. It is about 23 kilometers long from Luding to Shawasi. You'd better have lunch in Shawasi. There is a 22-kilometer-long uphill to Kangding from Shawasi.
You will have a chance to enjoy some Tibetan dwellings in Kangdiing and spend one night there. Most of the hostels in Kangding cost 100-110 RMB per person around.
It is not far from Kangding to Zheduotang (17 kilometers). But we highly suggest tourists to spend 1 day in Zheduotang, as the elevation of Zheduotang is about 4000 meters high. High altitude sickness may occur here. There is a small hot spring in Zheduotang village.
Today we will climb over a mountain of 4000 meters high. It is a fantastic way along the mountain. The colorful Tibetan dwellings are located on both sides. It is a good choice for photographic enthusiasts. It is impossible to supply the stuffs on the way from Zheduotang Village to Xindu Bridge. You'd better prepare enough food in Kangding. Dengba Hostel costs about 100 RMB per person. The free internet and free washing machine are both provided.
It is approximately 76 kilometers far from Xindu Bridge to Yajiang. The road condition is very bad. If you are lucky enough, you may overview the Gonggar Snow Mountain on the way. Gar Temple is about 4412 meters high, which will be appreciated on the half way. Then there are all down hills to Yajiang. The elevation descends about 1800 meters. Buy some stuff in Xindu Bridge and then prepare the enough necessities in Yajiang as it is very hard to find any stores in next two days.
It is approximately 20 kilometers far from Yajiang to Buzhu Dwellings. Shangzongke Village of Buzhu Dwellings is characteristic of the Tibetan architecture and folk custom in this village. You will have a chance to enjoy the stars on the roof of Buzhu Dwellings.
It is approximately 62 kilometers far from Shangkezong Village to Kazila Mountain Pass. It is the rough road so that the aluminum shelves of our bicycle are usually broken on the way. You'd better reach Kalazi Mountain Pass before 5 pm.
It is hard to find any water on the way to Litang. There are almost down hills on the way. In general, tourists could arrive in Litang in the afternoon. The accommodation condition in Litang is fine. Some hostels cost 100 RMB per person. Tibetan food can be easily found in Litang, such as the butter tea, cheese and air dried meat.
