In order to enjoy the most beautiful and amazing sceneries along Sichuan-Tibet Highway, we spent about 35 days during this route. During the trip, we spent 27 days riding a bicycle to Tibet, and 5 days relaxing ourselves on the way. It is about 100 kilometers from Chengdu to Dujiangyan. We mainly drive along the 213 National Road today. Some sections of the road are concrete pavement and the road condition is fine. When we arrive in Yingxiu (Sichuan Province), the road is concrete pavement and asphalt road. There are many up hills and the road is very narrow. There are three tunnels and a downhill after passing through the 3rd tunnel. On the way to the Yingxiu city, there are lots of trucks. Please be careful.
It is approximately 83 kilometers long. We mainly ride a bicycle along 303 National Road today. The environment quality is relatively better than the 1st day, as we ride in Wolong Protection Zone. There are few cars in Wolong Protection Zone so that the air quality is fine. Today we will enjoy many streams along the road with fantastic natural sceneries. But the accommodation condition in Wolong is not very good.
On the way to Dengsheng from Wolong, it is characteristic of the concrete pavement and asphalt road. We have a choice to view the Yinlong Canyon. There are full of up hills.
It is about 67 kilometers long. We will ride to 4538 meters high from a place of 2743 meters, and climb over Mibalang Mountain. Mibalang Mountain is about 4538 meters high. On the way we will enjoy the snow mountains, clouds sea and high land scenery, etc. Please pay attention to the curves on the way and the speed limit is 40km/h. If you have enough time, you could overview the famous "Siguniang Mountain Peak". "Siguniang" literally means the 4th girl in Chinese language. "Siguniang Mountain Peak" is surrounded by snow mountains.
It is about 118 kilometers along. It is the asphalt road on the way, and 90% are down hills. You will have a chance to enjoy many Tibetan houses on the way. We lived in Tashi Zhuokang hostel. It is located approximately 500 meters behind the bridge. The general facilities in this hotel include the bed, TV and hot water. It costs about 120RMB per room.
It is approximately 90 kilometers long. You will climb over a mountain over 4000 meters high. It is asphalt road. About 70 kilometers are the up slopes, and about 20 kilometers are down hills. There is a hot-spring on the way. Today we could overnight in Huiyuan Temple and enjoy this temple in the day time. There is a primary school nearby Huiyuan Temple. It is supported by a Living Buddha.
