Tips: The night view of Potala Palace is only available before 21:00. Tourists are highly suggested to have a good rest after arriving Tibet, no sports, no running or smoking. We kindly suggest guests to take enough medicines for the high altitude sickness such as Rhodiola rosea.
It is relatively a relaxing day. We will visit the essential attractions of Lhasa City. In the morning, you could have a cup of butter tea and then take the photos of the full view of Potala Palace. It is allowed to visit the restaurant of Potala Palace, but no pictures. After lunch, we will worship or pray to the Buddha of Jokhang Temple. There are lots of pilgrims and believers outside the temple. They will devoutly walk around Jokhang Temple clockwise. We should walk clockwise, too.
And then, we will go to the Barkhor Street which is one of the representatives of the cultural landscape of Tibet. It can not be missed by every tourist. Different national stuffs may be found there, such as the beautiful Tibetan Thangka, unique Tibetan jewelries, Tibetan carpet, and Tibetan knife, etc.
In the evening, you could wander in the square in front of Potala Palace, or have some drink in Makya-ame – a small but very famous bar in Lhasa City.
