Peach Flower Tour in Tibet

D9 Bayi Town, Basumtso, Lhasa City

It is asphalt road from Bayi Town to Lhasa City. The peach flowers blossom in Bayi Town in Nyingchi Prefecture in Tibet. If you can get up early, you will have a chance to appreciate the peach flower scenery in the mist in highland. After breakfast, we will drive along Niyang River to enjoy the primitive forest and Basumtso Lake. Basumtso Lake is the sacred lake of Red Sect (Nyingma Sect) with the average elevation of 4000 meters high. Tourists could board on the islet through the floating bridge. There is a viewing deck on the islet, which could overlook the full view of the water surface and the whole islet. After lunch, we could pass the Sejila Mountain to enjoy the yak sculptures and Rock Pillar in Mid-River along the way. Finally we will reach Lhasa City. If you feel okay, you could enjoy the night view of Lhasa City and have some food taken late. There are many restaurants on the street, such as Sichuan Restaurant, Northeastern Chinese Restaurant, Western Restaurant, and Northwestern Chinese Restaurant, etc.

D10 Lhasa City, Yamdrok Lake, Karo-la Glacier, Palkhor Monastery, Shigatse

Today we will climb over the Gangpala Snow Mountain which is 4700 meters high and pass the Qushui Town to reach Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok Lake is the highest freshwater lake of the world, highly praised as the sacred lake on the earth. We usually drive to the top of a mountain to look down at it, which seems like standing on the heaven. It looks like a shining blue silk crossing the mountains and smiles to us. It is really hard to describe how beautiful it is, we kindly suggest every tourist to memory it with your cameras. You will know how we feel about it.

Afterwards, we will drive to Gyantse County by way of Karo-la Glacier. We will visit the legendary Palkhor Monastery there. Palkhor Monastery is actually respected by three different religious sects and famed for the most wonderful murals and sculptures in Tibet. Besides, we will have a chance to feel historic Zongshan Castle there. Zongshan Castle was where the British invasion happened in old time.

Tips: as the solar radiation is so strong and horrible in Tibet plateau, you'd better take the better skin care products.

D11 Shigatse, Sakya Monastery, Latse, Tingri (Xegar), Rongbuk Monastery

It is gravel road from Shigatse to Xegar. In the morning, we will visit Sakya Monastery which is highly respected by Sakya Sect (Colorful Sect). The religious treasures and historic significance of Sakya Monastery make it be regarded as the second Dunhuang of China. Later on, we will drive to Xegar by way of Chinese-Nepalese Highway.

When we are close to Xegar, we could overlook Mt. Everest on the way. After lunch, we will climb over the Gyatsola Snow Mountain which is 5220 meters high and then go ahead to Rongbuk Monastery. Rongbuk Monastery is only about 20 kilometers far from the top of Mt. Everest. It is the closest guesthouse of Mt. Everest.

D12 Rongbuk Monastery, Mt. Everest Base Camp, Tingri, Latse, Shigatse

Today we will go ahead to Mt. Everest Natural Reserve from Rongbuk Monastery. Afterwards, we will get back to Shigatse.

Tips: Mt. Everest is located in the boundary area, approximately 100 kilometers south far from Chinese-Nepalese Highway.

D13 Shigatse, Lhasa

After visiting Tashilhunpo Monastery, we will drive back to Lhasa City. On the way back to Lhasa City, we will have a chance to enjoy Yarlung Zangbo River scenery.
