According to the staff of the administrative office of Potala Palace, tourists who want to make a visit to Potala Palace are required to order the entrance ticket one day in advance. The order service would be available between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00p.m. There is no extra fee while booking the ticket. ID, passport and other valid documentation should be provided while booking. For the protection of Potala Palace, the administrative office decided to limit the visitors enter into Potala Palace under 4000 each day during the peak season.
There are direct trains and fights between Lhasa and Chengdu, Chongqing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, and Beijing.
