Namtso Lake, located between Damgxung County and Bange Conty, is about 240 kilometers away from Lhasa. With an altitude of 4718 meters, Lake Namtso has a length of 70 meters from the east to the west and a width of 30 kilometers from the north to the south. It is noted as the second largest salt water lake in China and also the highest large lake above the sea level. Namtso means Heaven Lake in Tibetan.
