Before we talk about Songtsen Gampo, we have to talk about Tubo Dynasty firstly. Songtsen Gampo divided his territorial limits into 4 parts, respectively called Zangru, Yueru, Weiru and Yeru. These are 4 great and important military regions at that time. The complete military system was established and settled in each area, which it is commanded by the generals and marshals. To facilitate management, each region was distinguished by different horses and flags of different colors. The number of the entire military of Tubo Dynasty was about 400000, which was the largest military power in the whole reigns. And that is why he was highly praised as the greatest Zampo during Tibet history.
