Kathmandu to Lhasa Tours – Transportation

Kathmandu to Lhasa Tours – Air Transportation

A lot of international flights between Kathmandu and other international metropolis are available. The direct flights between Kathmandu and Shanghai, Chengdu and Lhasa in China, Bangalore and Delhi, Bangkok, Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Osaka, Vienna, Amsterdam and Singapore. Foreign tourists planning to join the Kathmandu to Lhasa tours could fly to Kathmandu from your own city from one of those transit cities and then fly to Lhasa from Tribhuvan International Airport. It should be noted that tourists willing to avoid the complicate application process of China Visa from the Chinese Embassy in Nepal could fly to Chengdu or Shanghai first and then fly to Lhasa. The China Visa issued by the Chinese Embassy in your country will be regarded as valid if you enter into Lhasa from other domestic cities in China.

The international flight between Kathmandu and Lhasa acted as the air bridge between and Nepal and China since 1987. Tourists join the Lhasa tours from Kathmandu choose the air transportation is much time-saving compared to enter into Tibet from Kathmandu overland. Foreign tourists could fly to Kathmandu first and then fly to Lhasa. It takes only about 70 minutes to fly to Lhasa from Kathmandu.

Kathmandu to Lhasa Tours – Overland Transportation

There are two ports for tourists making choice among the Kathmandu to Lhasa tours overland, Purang and Zham. Most of the tourists would like to enter into Tibet through Zham Port, which is only 120 kilometers away from Kathmandu. Tourists planning a Nepal to Tibet overland tour could take the shuttle bus between Kathmandu and Kodari first and then get a vehicle to the Friendship Bridge.

We will visit the historical and natural scenic spots on the way back to Lhasa, such as the Tashiluhun Monastery and Palkhor Monastery in Shigatse Prefecture and the Yamdrok Yumtso in Shannan Prefecture.
