How to Travel to Tibet with old people

Travel to Tibet may be a dream of some foreign olds as Tibet is not easy as other scenic spots of China to visit. They may plan a Tibet tour during their whole life. There is an old grandma who was already 90 years old at that time, she finally come to this sacred land and show her respect to this virgin place. She told us, she dreamed a whole life and she felt happy at that moment when she crawl and make a wish to Buddha of Potala Palace.

Find how to travel to Tibet with olds will help you have a good preparation and take good care of them.

Before they depart to Tibet, they are kindly suggested to take a physical examination and then decide how to travel to Tibet according to the suggestions of doctors. Because old people are easily to get a cold in Tibet as the weakness of immunity of their body. It will be very dangerous if the high altitude environment is not friendly to them.

Acute high altitude sickness is much easier to happen to them in the high plateau, which is life-threatening. Some old people who have such disease like heart disease, obvious arrhythmia, hypertension ?, blood disease, chronic respiratory disease, pulmonary disease, bronchial asthma, bronchiectasia, pulmonary emphysema, phthisis, terrible diabetes mellitus, and epilepsia, etc, are not suggested to enter to Tibet.

On the other hand, medicines of avoiding high altitude sickness are very necessary and useful to old people, even though they are fine when you arrive in Lhasa at first day, such as Rhodiola rosea, glucose, chrysanthemum tea, Vitamin C, etc. Better safe than sorry.

Tips of How to Travel to Tibet with the Olds

Have a good rest and keep a relaxing mind are both useful to old people. They are kindly suggested to have some Rhodiola rosea 7 days or more in advance to prevent the high altitude sickness in high plateau.

If you travel with old people, we kindly suggest you plan Nyingchi Prefecture where is the lowest place of Tibet as your first destination. There are full of forests with enough oxygen in Nyingchi Prefecture. It is better for them to acclimatize the high altitude gradually.

In additional, we do not suggest the old people to take the flight to travel to Tibet, as the incidental symptom of high altitude sickness is easy to happen such as lack of oxygen, and dizziness, and even shock etc.

What's more, old people are kindly suggested to walk slowly to reduce the heart burden, have some oxygen inhalation and drink more water.
