Gyantse Tour – Introduction of Jiangsunglhomo Peak

The Jiangsunglhomo Peak is located on the Lagui Gangri Range at the altitude of 6536 meters. It is located on the conjunction place of Gyantse and Nagarze County, southwest of Yamdrok Lake.

The Jiangsunglhomo Peak is praised as "Goddess of Wisdom" by local people. There are six 7000 meters high peaks and over twenty 6000 meters high peaks around the Jiangsunglhomo. Furthermore, there are beautiful Yamdrok Lake and Pumoyongtso which are two of the four great holy lakes of Tibet. Both of them are inland fresh-water lakes. Between the two holy lakes, there are many monasteries which attract large amount of pilgrims come to worship. The Sangting Gongba (at the altitude of 4454 meters) which was built up in middle of 14th century is important Tibetan Buddhism monastery. The director of this monastery is Duoji Pam who is the only female living Buddha of Tibet. When you enjoy the beautiful scenery of Jiangsunglhomo Peak in your Gyantse tour, you also can enjoy the beautiful Yamdrok Lake and visit mysterious Tibetan monasteries.

Among various peaks in Tibet, the Jiangsunglhomo Peak is an ideal place to climb for domestic amateur mountaineering fans because it is with convenience transportation, good climate and gentle climb. The difficulty of mountaineering is moderate.

Gyantse Tour – Climate of Jiangsunglhomo Peak

The precipitation at Jiangsunglhomo Peak in spring (from April to May) and autumn (from September to October) is very small, and in other months is large. The climate of Jiangsunglhomo Peak is changeable. The rain, snow, hail, thunder and lightening may occur now and then. The periods from April to May and from September to October in every year are the best time to climb the Jiangsunglhomo Peak. If you want to climb the Jiangsunglhomo Peak in July, you are kindly suggested to adjust your itinerary based on weather condition.

Gyantse Tour – Transportation of Jiangsunglhomo Peak

If you want to visit the Jiangsunglhomo Peak in your Gyantse tour, you must charter a vehicle for the whole journey. If you start from Lhasa, you can go along the 318 National Highway via Qushui County, cross clear Yarlung Zangbo River and Gangbala Mountain (at the altitude of 4794 meters). And then, go along the highway on the bank of Yamdrok Lake. After the Nagarze County, the vehicle will come into the interior mountain area. It is possible to drive to Jiangsunglhomo Peak from Lhasa and go back just in the same day. A round trip from the base camp of Jiangsunglhomo to the downtown of Gyantse only needs three hours.
