In Tibet plateau, the winter is longer than summer. In southeast part of Tibet the seasons of a year are more obviously.

In Lhasa, Shigatse and Shannan Prefecture, the whole year around is the proper time travel. From May to October is the best time travel to Tibet, besides from July to September is the best time to travel to Lhasa, Shigatse and Shannan Prefecture. The temperature of those months is mild. Thus, if we travel to Tibet in winter, the Lhasa, Shigatse and Shannan Prefecture would be the proper places to visit.

1.Spring and autumn are the best season to have a Tibet tour in Ngari Prefecture. In summer, the road of south part of Ngari is not easy to go. After snow in winter, the road is very hard to cross.

2.In summer in Nyingchi Prefecture, the road is not easy to cross, too. In spring, the climate is humid and a little bit cold. Autumn is the best time to visit in Nyingchi Prefecture and you will enjoy the wonderful and unforgettable sceneries in Nyingchi Prefecture.

3.In Qamdo Prefecture, the road in rainy day is not east to cross.

4.Except the Qinghai – Tibet highway of north part of Tibet, the lake area is hardly to walk in summer. Autumn is the best time to visit but this season is very short in Tibet. The winter is also the proper time only if there is no snow disaster.

Generally speaking, the spring and autumn are the best season to have a Tibet tour. Besides that, the July and August are the golden time to travel to Tibet because of the best Tibet climate. During that time, there will be lots of tourists from home and abroad to travel to Tibet. Thus, the price of air tickets, train tickets, accommodation and vehicle will be much higher than other time.
