An increasingly number of tourists are planning to travel to Tibet to enjoy the snow and sunshine in winter 2013 after a series of introduction & promotion conferences regarding Tibet tour in winter were held in different domestic cities. It is reported that the annual Introduction & Promotion Conference of Tibet Tour in Winter was held in Beijing by Tibet Tourism Bureau on November 18th. Dozens local travel agencies and media in Beijing attended that conference and said that they are willing to encourage their clients to travel to Tibet to enjoy the snow and sunshine there.

Be different from most other domestic cities in China, Tibet is under lovely sunshine in winter. But tourists who don't know Tibet are always afraid of travel to Tibet in winter for the low temperature and low oxygen content in the air in this season. To avoid any further understanding, the deputy director of Tibet Tourism Bureau clarified that the oxygen content in the air in winter in Lhasa is only about 2 percent lower than that in summer (it is recorded that the oxygen content in the air in winter in Lhasa is 64 percent while that number is 66 percent in summer). Therefore, there is very slight difference in the oxygen content in the air in different seasons in Lhasa.

Tourists who've never been to Tibet in winter might imagine that it must be very cold in Lhasa in winter. Yes, the temperature would be pretty low in the night, but the temperature might even reach 15 Celsius to 25 Celsius during the daytime under the sunshine. Tourists travel to Tibet in winter could not only take a clear overview of the holy mountains which were shut out by the clouds and mist in summer, but also join the celebration ceremony of the traditional Tibetan festivals (such as the solemn Tibetan New Year).

It is reported that tourists visit Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple, Norbu Lingka and some other important spots in Tibet will be served with professional commentator since November 1st. Be frankly, visitors could not explore the interior landscapes in the historical spots very well due to the limited space and much visitors.

Except for the spectacular natural landscapes, Tibet is also noted for its unique traditional culture. It is said that that winter is the best season to explore the local folk customs for a series of traditional Tibetan festivals would be celebrated in winter. Just a few years ago, there are few tourists in Lhasa in winter, but there are more tourists in Lhasa in winter in recent years. The festal atmosphere in Tibet always leaves visitors deep impression.
