In consideration of the special local environment and transportation condition, it is necessary to choose a best sightseeing season for tourists planning a Tibet tour and especially interested in certain regions.

Generally, the period between July and September is the best sightseeing season for most regions in Tibet. During that period, Tibet enjoys cool climate and fresh air while most regions in the same latitude are suffering a tropical summer. The climate on Tibet Plateau is mainly characterized by strong ultraviolet radiation, long sunshine duration, low temperature and less accumulated temperature. The southeastern Tibet has pretty complicated terrain and the road condition would be very bad in the rainy season. Tourists who've been to Tibet might have found that the scenic spots are quite far away from each other, and the local climate might be quite different from each other even in the same season. Therefore, scenic spots in different regions on Tibet Plateau have different best sightseeing seasons.

Best Sightseeing Season for Lhasa, Tsedang and Shigatse

The infrastructure construction in Lhasa, Tsedang and Shigatse are relatively better than the remote towns in Ngari or some other prefectures. Tourists visiting Lhasa, Tsedang and Shigatse are mainly interested in the historical and cultural sites which are rarely influenced by the natural weather condition.
