The Flight between Lhasa and Shenzhen is Opened

Tibet Airline officially opened the flight between Lhasa and Shenzhen on January 21st, 2013. With the smooth take-off of No.TV9847 from Lhasa Gonggar Airport, the air line between Lhasa and Shenzhen firstly opened. The body of the plane is painted with colorful Hadas. The opening of this air line marks the number of air lines opened by Tibet Airline increased to 15 so far.

It is reported that this flight will be available every day according to the original plan. It will take off from Lhasa at 9:30 a.m. and arrive in Chengdu at 11:20 a.m. Then it leaves for Shenzhen from Chengdu at 12:30 p.m. after 10-minute stop at Chengdu. It will finally arrive in Shenzhen Bao'an International Airport at 14:35 p.m. The return stroke of No.TV9847 would start from Shenzhen at 15:35 p.m. and arrive in Chengdu at 17:55 p.m. After one-hour stop, it will leave Chengdu for Lhasa at 18:55 p.m. and finally arrive in Lhasa at 20:55 p.m.

The Lhasa-Chengdu-Shenzhen air line opened by Tibet Airline is the one and only air like which connects Lhasa City and Shenzhen City via Chengdu City. The planes will be used on this route are specially modified to adapt to the high plateau environment and they will have good performance in the safety and comfort with the coordination of the RNP precise airmanship.

Tibet Airline has opened the flights between Lhasa Gonggar Airport and Ngari Gunsa Airport, Nyingchi Milin Airport. The air lines between Lhasa and Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing, Xining, Beijing and Lanzhou are also opened so far. Tibet Airline is also planning to open the flights between Lhasa and other important domestic cities in different regions of China in the coming three years. Then tourists planning a Tibet tour could enter into Tibet from different cities conveniently. There is only one international flight opened in Tibet – the direct flight between Lhasa and Kathmandu which is only available on Saturdays.

The opening of the flight between Lhasa and Shenzhen make it more convenient for tourists willing to enter into Tibet via Shenzhen. It takes shorter time to finish a single trip between Lhasa and Shenzhen. It takes only about 5.5 hours to get to Lhasa from Shenzhen by air since tourists don't have to transfer to another plane the whole journey. The Lhasa-Chengdu-Shenzhen flight saves at least 2 hours for tourists had to fly to Shenzhen from Lhasa by a transfer via Chongqing, Chengdu or other domestic cities. The cost of the single trip between Lhasa and Shenzhen is also nearly 300 RMB less. Hence, it is really a time-saving and cost-saving flight.

A large number of citizens in Shenzhen City booked the first ticket to Lhasa from Shenzhen previously. The passenger load factor of the first flight reaches 90 percent according to statistics provided by Tibet Airline. The popularity of the first flight indicates that the Lhasa-Chengdu-Shenzhen air line will play a positive and important role in the cultural exchange between Lhasa and Shenzhen. Obviously, it will also promote the tourism development and economical development in Lhasa City and Shenzhen City.
