Among the experimental reading rooms of temples', there are many famous literature books according to the actual demand of temple monks. The literatures are concerned with traditional culture, science knowledge, Buddhism classic, health care and common knowledge in law to content the desire of spirit culture of temple monks.

Reading Room in the Monastery – Sera Monastery

The pressroom of Sera Monastery is not only used for printing scriptures but also being the study for monks. The reading room of Sera Monastery was built in July 2007 firstly. It is small but clean and tidy. Lots of scriptures are arranged in order on the shelves, which attracts large numbers of monks, visitors and foreign tourists. If you are interested in any kinds of the books, you can print in the reading room on the spot.

The large numbers of reading rooms have been constructed for the monks learning and succeeding the excellent traditional culture of Chinese history, at the same time absorbing the new modern science knowledge.

Reading Room in the Monastery – Tsurphu Monastery

Tsurphu Monastery is 70 kilometers away from the Lhasa City and situated at the upstream of Tsurphu River. Tsurphu Monastery has been constructed for half a year with a total coverage area of 1500 square meters.

Most of monks of the Tsurphu Monastery are excited for the opening of this reading room. After the completed of the reading room, they are able to get much more knowledge and information of the world. The reading room of the Tsurphu Monastery has been praised as the precious palace by the monks.

There are different kinds of literatures such as Confucian classics, Buddhist classics, but also Tibetan mathematical dictionary, New Dictionary, Tibetan literature and Tibetan diet dictionary and so on. There are also many other books and literatures offered for people after the reading room officially opened.

There are two floors in the reading room. The first floor is used for borrowing books and the second floor offers the internet service. By the way, the books in the reading room are able to be sold.

Reading Room in the Monastery – Drepung Monastery, Reting Monastery, Nyetang Monastery

Besides the reading rooms in the Sera Monastery and Tsuphu Monastery, there are other three experimental reading rooms in Drepung Monastery, Reting Monastery and Nyetang Monastery.
