The pressroom of Sera Monastery is not only used for printing scriptures but also being the study for monks. The reading room of Sera Monastery was built in July 2007 firstly. It is small but clean and tidy. Lots of scriptures are arranged in order on the shelves, which attracts large numbers of monks, visitors and foreign tourists. The large numbers of reading rooms have been constructed for the monks learning and succeeding the excellent traditional culture of Chinese history, at the same time absorbing the new modern science knowledge.
Tsurphu Monastery is 70 kilometers away from the Lhasa City and situated at the upstream of Tsurphu River. Tsurphu Monastery has been constructed for half a year with a total coverage area of 1500 square meters.
Most of monks of the Tsurphu Monastery are excited for the opening of this reading room. After the completed of the reading room, they are able to get much more knowledge and information of the world. The reading room of the Tsurphu Monastery has been praised as the precious palace by the monks.
