10th Mt. Everest Cultural Tourism Festival will be Launched at Shigatse at the End of August

The 10th Mt. Everest Cultural Tourism Festival in Shigatse Prefecture will be launched between August 26th and 28th according to the press conference held on August 13th. Various activities will be included in the festival, such as artistic performance, commodities exchange, trade fair, exploitation of tour routes, cuisine competition and so on.

The cultural tourism festival aims at marketing the tourism products to the enterprises both in and out Tibet. It will mainly demonstrate the tourism products in Shigatse Area, especially the local style handicrafts. The festival would also invite some famous photographers here to catch the fascinating natural landscapes in Shigatse so as to make more tourists know Shigatse.

Shihatse Prefecture is located at the southwest border of China. It borders on India, Nepal and Bhutan. Shigatse City is the second largest city in Tibet with a history of more than 600 years. It is a famous historic and cultural city and is also noted as the residence of Panchen Lamas.
