Weather in Shigatse – Gyantse County

Gyantse County locates in the east of the Shigatse prefecture and it belongs to semi-arid monsoon climate of plateau temperate zone. The dry season and humid season are clearly demarcated. In summer, it is warm and wet with plenty of rainfall. The rainfall averages 292.1 mm a year. While in winter, it is dry and cold and the solar radiation is strong. The daily temperature range is large and the annual temperature range is small. The frostless season is short. The annual average temperature is 4.8?. The average temperature in January is -4.6? and 12.5? in July. Annual sunshine time reaches 3189.8 hours and annual frostless season is about 110days. Natural calamities mainly include drought, mountain torrents, windstorm, frost hazard and hailstone.

Weather in Shigatse –Bailang County

Bailang belongs to semi-arid monsoon climate of plateau temperate zone with plenty of sunshine and strong solar radiation. The dry season and humid season are clearly demarcated. In summer, there is plenty of rain in this area. The rainfall averages 350 mm a year. Annual temperature range is small but large temperature difference exists between day and night. The annual average temperature is 6? to 7?. The average temperature in January is -4? to -3? and 13? to 14? in July. Annual sunshine time reaches about 3200 hours. Natural calamities mainly include drought, frost, hailstone, sand wind and debris flow.

Weather in Shigatse –Yadong County

Because of the big difference in altitude, the weathers are different in the south and north of the borderline of Pagri town. The average altitude in the northern part is over 4300 meters high, the production period of which is about 150 days and the frost season is 280 days. Annual average rainfall is 410 mm. While in the southern part, the altitude is lower with an average height of 2800 meters. The climate is humid and forests are dense. The production period is 210 days, frost season is 160 days and annual average rainfall is 873 mm. Annual average temperature in Pagri town is -0.7?. The average temperature in January is -8.7? and 7.9? in July. Natural calamities mainly include earthquake, flood, snowstorm, drought, debris flow, landslides drought and hailstone.
