In spring, the mountains change on new clothes. Basum Lake takes off its heavy makeup, lying peacefully between the mountains, simple but elegant.
The water is even bluer than regions south of the Yangtze River. You can not help going straight to the lakeside to play with water and let the water wet out the clothes. Regions near the lakes are covered with light green grasses, among which yellow and white flowers grow. The best time of Basum Lake is autumn, the sky is high and the weather fine. Woods look dyed all over the mountains and plains. It is good time for shutterbugs to take photographs in the rich colors and peaceful and comfort environment. As woods in the lakeside are densely covered, it is difficult to take photos of the center of the lake, Tashi Island. People need to climb the wooded mountain from back of Basum vocational village to get the chance to take photos of the beautiful scenery of the lake center. The Tashi Island in the center is like a jewel imbedded in the verdurous lake. Apart from this spot, there is many more places worth to take photographs for shutterbugs.

With the decline of the altitude, grassland sceneries appear. Tents of Tibetan herdsmen scatter on the grasslands, with smoke curling up from the kitchen chimneys. Tibetan oxen are browsing on grass leisurely, dogs playing and running on the grass. Sometimes you can see one or two women taking jar of buttered tea, fetch things, call their children. With abundant water resources in the rivers and lakes alongside, people there live an affluent life.
