Dust Weather in Shannan

On February the 8th, there happened the strongest dust weather in Shannan prefecture alongside the river since last winter. On February the 14th, the dust blowing occurred again in areas alongside the river and western areas in Shannan. There is yellow sand all over the sky in Tsedang Town. The air is muddy. The minimum visibility is less than 500 meters, which brought much negative influence or inconvenience for going-out.

The Cause of the Dust Weather in Shannan

It is 191 kilometers from Tsedang County to Lhasa and 87 kilometers to Lhasa Gonggar Airport. Tsedang Town belongs to Nedong County, locates to the east of the river confluence of Yalong river and Yarlung Zangbo River. It is the place where the administrative office locates. The altitude is 3560 meters high above the sea level and also it is the traffic hinge of the south Tibet.
