Foreigners who have a plan of Tibet tour from UK are kindly suggested to get the Chinese Visa L (L = Tourism Visa). Because only Chinese visa L is acceptable by Tibet Tourism Bureau except foreigners who already live or work in China.

a. Original passport remaining to be valid for at least 6 months from the date of Chinese Visa application with enough blank visa pages.
b. Fill in the Visa Application Form with your recently-taken passport photo pasted on the back.
c. Invitation letter is required if you apply for tourism visa or family visa approved by the office. The details on invitation letter should relate to the full name, gender, date of birth, purpose of visit, date of arriving and leaving China, place of visit, relations between the applicant and the inviter, financial support during stay in China, and name of organization, contact number, address, stamp of the organization and signature of the organization's representative as well.
Based on our experience, you just need to provide your air ticket (round trip) and hotel reservation in China if you do not have the invitation letter. Actually, we always suggest this simple way to our guests.
d. Children who were not born in China but of Chinese origin with a foreign passport should provide the birth certification and parents' name, and the permanent residence permit or certificate of the current country of parent's to apply for Chinese visa.
e. People who are not holding a UK passport should provide the original and a copy of his or her permanent residence or work permit which should be valid for at least half a year (except for those who are visa or permit exempt for residing or working in the UK).
The application could be submit by yourselves or other people to the center, or apply by post followed by Guidelines on Postal Application.
Generally, visa issue spends 4 working days, or 3 working days in emergency.
visa and service fees are paid while you collecting your Chinese visa with cash (Pound) or debit card.
A single-entry visa is valid for 3 months, and a double-entry visa valid for 6 months, both with a 30-day duration of stay in general.
You are kindly suggested to apply for Chinese visa about 1 month in advance of your intended date of entry into China, otherwise your already-issued visa may become expired.
