Victorious route is the last section of the journey of riding a bicycle along Sinkiang – Tibet Highway. Please enjoy reading previous Riding a Bicycle along Sinkiang – Tibet Highway – Interesting Route.

Riding a Bicycle along Sinkiang – Tibet Highway – Victorious Route

D23 Saga County (K1846) – Dazhong Village – Kuila Mountain (5089m) – S206 crossing – 22 Daoban (have lunch) – Qyere Village (K1940)

It is approximately 94 kilometers far from Saga Coounty to Qyere Village. There are continuous undulant up slopes and down slopes after passing Saga County. On the way to S206 crossing is a rough road and the road condition is terrible. 22 Daoban is approximately 6 kilometers far from S206 crossing. There is a checkpoint in 22 Daoban.

You may overnight in Qyere Village. Most of the hostels cost 100-150 RMB per person.

D24 Qyere Village – Sobiyala Mountain Pass (5098m) – Unnamed Plateau Lake – K1971 Rescue Station – Gyela Mountain Pass (4936m) – Lalye Village (have lunch) – Sangsang Town

It is actually about 85 kilometers far from Qyere Village to Sangsang Town. The up slopes are available after passing Qyere Village. The unnamed lakes are available on both sides of the road. You could have lunch in Lalye Village and then ride along the asphalt road to Sangsang Town. Sangsang Town is located about 24 kilometers far.

D25 Sangsang Town – Gala Mountain Pass (4778m) – Bangla Mountain Pass (4710m) – Junbula Mountain Pass (4560m) – Angla Mountain Pass (4517m) – Latse

It is actually about 123 kilometers far from Sangsang Town to Latse. It is asphalt road. Angla Mountain Pass is the last mountain pass along Sinkiang-Tibet Highway (219 National Highway). More and more small Tibetan villages are available along the way. The end of 219 National Highway is only 2 kilometers far from Latse Yajiang River. The section of China-Nepal Highway is available on the other side of the Sinkiang – Tibet Highway (219 National Highway), which could lead to Nepal.

D26 Latse – Sakya Crossing – Cola Mountain Pass – Resa Village – K5000 Monument – Shigatse

The number which written on the milestone is reciprocal from here. It is actually about 145 kilometers far from Latse to Shigatse. After leaving Latse there is a large field. If you ride the bicycle along Sinkiang – Tibet Highway – 219 National Highway in July and August, you will have a chance to enjoy the green highland barleys.

There is the asphalt road after passing the monument. The checkpoint is available on the way. You will have a chance to enjoy Tashilhunpo Monastery. It is the largest monastery of Gelug Sect in Shigatse.

D27 Shigatse – Bailang County – Gyantse

It is about 91 kilometers far from Shigatse to Gyantse. The road condition is terrible in the suburb of Shigatse. Be careful.

Bailang County and Gyantse are both the famous producing area of watermelons. You will have a chance to enjoy the Palhor Monastery in Gyantse.

D28 Gyantse – Manla Reservoir – Karola Glacier – Karola Mountain Pass – Langkatse

It is approximately 101 kilometers long. It is continuous undulant up slopes and down slopes after passing Gyantse. It is a little difficult to ride to Karola Mountain Pass.

There is a long down slope on the way to Langkatse County.

D29 Langkatse – Yamdrok Lake Viewing Deck – Gangbala Mountain Pass (4990m) – Lhasa

It is about 160 kilometers long. Today we will finally arrive in Lhasa via Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok Lake is available about 10 kilometers far from Langkatse County.
