Kathmandu-Lhasa Tour Package – Transportation

Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal, is a well-know tourist resort in the world. The special architecture style and rich religious atmosphere always attract large amount of tourists come. Because Nepal borders on Tibet, many tourists would like to choose a Kathmandu-Lhasa tour package, to fully enjoy the wonderful scenery in Nepal and Tibet just in one tour. There are two kinds of transportation from Kathmandu to Lhasa, flight and overland route.

Kathmandu-Lhasa Tour Package – Flight

Lhasa has no international air-connection with any country in the world other than Nepal (Kathmandu). So, tourists who want to choose a Kathmandu-Lhasa tour package can take flight to Lhasa directly and start the tour from Lhasa. The flight from Kathmandu to Lhasa is available in Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday, which will departure from Kathmandu at 12:05 and arrive in Lhasa at 13:10. Due to flight numbers between Kathmandu and Lhasa is relatively few, and the carrier's total capacity is only 110 passengers at a time. Hence, tourists who would like to have Kathmandu-Lhasa tour package by air are highly suggested to book the air ticket in advance, especially in high season of Tibet tour.

Kathmandu-Lhasa Tour Package – Overland Route

Besides taking flight to Lhasa from Kathmandu, many tourists would like to take overland route from Kathmandu to Lhasa. Because the overland route not only can save money, but also can enjoy the falls and streams, river valley scenery and high plateau scenery along the way. The beautiful scenery along the way from Kathmandu to Lhasa will leave you deep impression. There are buses from the City Bus Station of Kathmandu to Kodari – the border of Nepal and Tibet. Then, you will see the border town in Tibet – Zham Port just at other side of the Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge. Then, you can start you tour from the Zham Port.

At the same time, there are two buses between Kathmandu and Lhasa in every week. On the bus, there are two drivers and a conductor who know Chinese, Tibetan, language English and Nepali language. The whole journey from Kathmandu to Lhasa will spend three days and two nights, and will stop at Lhatze and Zham Port.
