Tibet has been selected as one of the best summer resorts in China for its low average temperature in summer. Nyingchi Prefecture enjoys a even more cool climate in summer compared to the other prefectures on Tibet Plateau. Actually, the June in Nyingchi is quite familiar with the October in inland cities - the climate is mainly characterized by obvious temperature difference between day and night. Generally, the temperature would reach 25 Celsius in the noon and it will drop quickly with the sunset. In addition, it rains frequently in the night, but it will stop with the coming of the morning. Therefore, tourists don't need to be worried about your trip in Nyingchi might be influenced by the rain in June.

Noted as the Switzerland on Tibet Plateau, Nyingchi presents a quite different view for visitors. Tourists planning to travel to Nyingchi in June could see some wild plants and flowers which could hardly been seen in the other regions in Tibet. The azalea flowers on Sejila Mountain between June and July had been a great attraction for tourists have strong interest in flowers. Except for the azalea flowers, the cole flowers in Nyingchi also enjoy high reputation among visitors.

Baksumtso Lake has been a must-visit site in Nyingchi for tourists love the natural sceneries, and the beautiful lake becomes even more charming between June and July with the decoration of the cole flowers. Baksumtso Lake enjoys an altitude around 3500 meters (lower than Lhasa), and visitors don't need to be worried about the altitude here. The bloom phase of the cole flowers at Baksumtso Lake is between June and July. The flowers form different pictures in different periods. According to the experienced photographers, morning and late afternoon are the best time for shooting the cole flowers. It is said that the cole flowers looked even more breathtaking under the soft sunshine.

Baksumtso Lake is located in the east of Gongbu Gyiangda County, about 40 kilometers away from the Sichuan-Tibet Highway (which is also noted as State Highway G318). For tourists willing to stay overnight by the lake, the guesthouses nearby are good choices. There is also a holiday resort providing different levels of rooms. Besides, it is also not a bad choice to settle a tent by Baksumtso Lake.

Tourists planning to travel to Nyingchi in June could not only choose the overland transportation, but also the air transportation. It takes only about 40 minutes to fly to Nyingchi from Lhasa while it takes about 8 hours to drive to Nyingchi from Lhasa. Besides, there are direct flights to Chongqing and Chengdu from Nyingchi Minlin Airport. Tourists willing to fly back to the inland cities could fly out from Nyingchi directly. It should be noted that the flights to Chongqing/Chengdu might not be available everyday. Therefore, tourists should check the flight schedule and book the tickets in advance. It takes about half an hour to get to Milin Airport from Bayi Town.
