D1 Lhasa

The frontal view of Potala Palace could be photographed in the south of the pool in front of Potala Palace. People are not allowed to walk into Potala Palace, but you can take some photos of Potala Palace restaurant.

When you go out of Potala Palace, you can walk around the fences of Potala Palace clockwise and take some photos there as you wish. Or you can climb on the top of Yaowang Hill which is said to be the best viewing position of Potala Palace. Yaowang Hill is situated in the west part of the square, opposite to Potala Palace.

Potala Palace is situated in the north toward to the south, the best time to enjoy it is when the daybreak comes and late afternoon in a day.

After lunch, you could enjoy local Tibetan's life and the cultural landscape at Barkhor Street. Barkhor Street is the splendid and busiest street of Lhasa City.

About 2 hours later, we could go ahead to photograph Jokhang Temple. The golden rooftop of Nang Hall in which the 12-year-old Sakyamuni Statue is enshrined and worshipped is highly recommended to you. Afterwards, you could enjoy the afterglow of Jokhang Temple there. There will be large numbers of pilgrims in front of Jokhang Temple. They are worth to respecting. The best time to photography Jokhang Temple is from 18:00-19:00.

D2 Drepung Monastery and Sera Monastery

Drepung Monastery is the largest monastery of Lhasa City, respected by Gelug Sect. Sera Monastery is famous for the Buddhist scripture debating in Tibet.

It usually takes about 2 hours to photograph Drepung Monastery. If you have more time, you could choose to visit Naiqyong Monastery which is not far from Drepung Monastery. And then we will have lunch in Lhasa City.

Afterwards, we will drive to Sera Monastery. Most of photographic enthusiasts are attracted by the Buddhist scripture debating there. It is wonderful and very religious. In general, the debating is available from 15:00 to 17:00 every day. In winter, it is only available from 18:30 – 20:00 on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. If you have more time, you could walk around the Sera Monastery clockwise again and find some cultural and historic religious painting on the rocks. What's more, you could overlook Potala Palace standing outside the Sera Monastery there. How beautiful the day is.

D3 Tanggula Mountain Pass – Dangxong – Namtso Lake

In the morning, we will spend about 4 hours' driving to Namtso Lake by way of Yampachen crossing and Dangxong County. It is approximately 222 kilometers long. It is asphalt road. On the way to Namtso Lake, we will have a choice to appreciate the Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain Pass which is 4620 meters high. We could have lunch in Dangxong County.

On the way to Namtso Lake, we will see lots of breathtaking sceneries, such as snow mountains, pastures, crowded sheep and goats, etc, along G109 National Highway. Qinghai-Tibet Railway is available beside the highway. You will see the trains running occasionally along the way.

We will reach Namtso Lake in the afternoon and prepare for taking photos of the amazing sunset sceneries. Both of the sunrise scenery and sunset scenery are both breathtaking.
