1.How's the weather condition in Tibet? Is it hot in summer or cold in winter?

Generally, except for the Northern Tibet and Ngari Prefecture, the temperature in Tibet is quite suitable for human beings. In summer, the temperature would not surpass 25 Celsius and it is about 10 Celsius in the night. In winter, the temperature is above 10 Celsius and it would be under 0 Celsius in the night. Hence, tourists making a Tibet tour would not feel too hot or severe cold in the daytime no mater you are here in summer or winter.

2.When is the rainy season of Tibet? How is the road condition?

The period between June and August is the rainy season of Tibet. The asphalted road would not be influenced by the heavy rain. But the road condition of the unsurfaced road sections in the sparsely populated areas would always be even worse in the rainy season. Tourists join the Tibet adventure tours during the rainy season should prepare the wind/water proof coat and water-proof shoes previously.

3.What is the Military Permit? Which places in Tibet need this permit?

Military Permit refers to the permit required in some frontier control zones in Tibet, such as Zhangmu and Medog. Tourists making a Tibet adventure tour to Mt. Everest and Zhangmu Port in Shigatse Prefecture, Mt. Kailash and Gaer County in Ngari Prefecture, Milin County, Zayu County and Medog County in Nyingchi Prefecture are required to apply for the Military Permit.

4.How's the cell phone signal in Tibet?

The cell phone signal is available in the bigger cities and towns in Tibet, such as Lhasa, Gyantse, Shigatse, Qamdo, Yampachen and Gaer. It is also available along the Qinghai-Tibet Highway, Sichuan-Tibet Highway and the Sino-Nepal Friendship Highway. The cell phone signal is not available in the remote mountain areas, such as Medog.

5.What kind of medicines should be prepared in advance of the Tibet adventure tour?

Except for some commonly used cold medicines, medicines effective in dealing with the gastrointestinal upset, heat-removing medicines and analgesics, tourists planning a Tibet adventure tour should also prepare some drugs for external use, including the gauze and bandage in case of need. In addition, tourists should also prepare some effective medicines for the precaution of the possible high altitude sickness in the consideration of the high altitude on Tibet Plateau. A large number of tourists would start to take some Rhodiola rosea about 10 days before entering into Tibet Plateau.

6.Do the local Tibetans understand English?

Only few local Tibetans understand English and speak little English in the bigger cities and towns for a large number of foreign tourists here, such as Lhasa, Shigatse and Tsedang. The local Tibetans in the remote and backward areas couldn't take English and even only few of them could understand mandarin. Actually, tourists planning a Tibet adventure tour don't need to be over worried about the communication problem since Tibet Tour would arrange you a local Tibetan English speaking guide accompany you throughout the journey.
