So, how many days should you stay in Lhasa City and what are the essential attractions? Let's figure out as following.

1-day Lhasa tour

In the morning, you will visit the most essential attraction - Potala Palace after breakfast. Because the rule of protecting Potala Palace, only about 2 thousand entry tickets are sold every day. And people should be allowed to visit Potala Palace one team after one team. Hence, your entry time may be adjusted by Tibet travel agency, but they will let you in finally. In general, you can have 1 hour for Potala Palace visiting.

Potala Palace was built in AD 7th Century during the reign of Songtsen Gampo. It is so magnificent and wonderful proudly standing the highest place of the world. It is highly protected as the famous World Cultural Relic. Since AD 17th Century, it has been the working place and living room of Dalai Lama in winter and later on it became popular for its proper historical value and extraordinary treasures.

After lunch, you can have a look at Jokhang Temple which is highly respected by local Tibetan people. The 12-year-old Sakyamuni Statue is well preserved in Jokhang Temple since AD 7th Century. It has been introduced into Tibet by Princess Wencheng of Tang Dynasty when she got married with Songtsen Gampo. The 12-year-old Sakyamuni Statue is highly enshrined and worshiped by local Tibetan people. You are required to walk around Jokhang Temple clockwise to show your devout respect to the Buddhism. In the meanwhile, there are many religious Tibetans crawling on the ground in front of Jokhang Temple.

1-day Holy Lake Tour costs USD 1000/p.p during peak season in general, as Namtso Lake is a little far from Lhasa City, In general, we will set our after breakfast and get back to Lhasa City in late afternoon. The accommodation condition is not good enough in Namtso Lake area. On the way to Namtso Lake, you will have a chance to enjoy Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain and Yampachen Hot Spring. Yangtze River originates from Geladandong Snow Mountain the main peak of Nyenchen Tanglha Mountain.
