Train tickets to Lhasa

Travel to and from Lhasa by train has been the choice for a large number of tourists since the Qinghai-Tibet Railway was opened to traffic in 2006. According to the statistics provided by Tibet Tourism Bureau, the number of visitors coming to Lhasa keeps increasing recent years. At the same time, the Tibet trains running between Lhasa and several domestic cities greatly relieved the transportation stress in the peak season of Tibet travel.

Train Tickets to and from Lhasa in the Peak Season

Generally, the period between July and August is regarded as the peak season of Tibet tour for the number of visitors in Tibet ranks first in these two months all year around. There is no doubt that the demand of the train tickets to and from Lhasa is extremely larger than the supply in the peak season. In fact, the train tickets to and from Lhasa are also in large demand in June, September and October. Currently, tourists interested in Tibet could search information regarding Tibet on internet. More and more visitors would like to make a Tibet tour in a not-so-crowded season with a lower budget. Therefor, June and September became good seasons for Tibet tour. Besides, a large number of domestic tourists would rush to Lhasa by train during the National Day Festival in early October, and that is the reason why the train tickets to and from Lhasa are also in large demand in October.

Though it is difficult to reserve the train tickets to Lhasa from the domestic cities (including Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Chongqing and Guangzhou) in the peak season, most tourists would like to go to Tibet in the peak season for the weather condition is relatively better and the oxygen content in the air is relatively higher. As an experienced Tibet tour operator, Tibet Tour would like to remind tourists planning to visit Tibet in the peak season that it is necessary to submit your reservation at least 20 days in advance. China Ministry of Railways starts to release the train tickets on its official site 20 days in advance. Tibet Tour provides Tibet train tickets booking service for clients booking a Tibet tour with us and we don't provide onefold tickets booking service in the peak season.
