Ganglamedo is a bar next to the Barkhor Street. On the signboard of Ganglamedo, there are words of Ganglamedo written with Tibetan, Chinese and English. "Ganglamedo" means "snow lotus" in Tibetan language. It was opened by an artist of Han Nationality who worked in Tibet.

On walls of Ganglamedo, there are various paintings with Tibetan subjects. These paintings are works of professional and amateur art workers in Lhasa. These paintings are on sell. The owner of Ganglamedo also used the bar to make the business of painting and planed to open Thangka studio and tattoo business.

Every foreign visitor in Tibet knows the Dunya Bar, perhaps because the name of Dunya Bar means "the whole world". Makye Ame is a very common restaurant on the southeast corner of Barkhor Street. The appearance of the two-floor building is similar with nearby Tibetan restaurants. The interior decoration of Makye Ame focuses on simple and comfortable European style. But antique Chinese romantic charm distributes every corner of Makye Ame.
