Tips for Tibet Travel Permit Application – Points Can't be Ignored

Foreign tourists planning to choose some special tour routes in Tibet should put more emphasis in the application procedure of the Tibet Travel Permit. For instance, tourists planning to visit Tsedang in Shannan Prefecture should write all the spots you are willing to visit in the application form, or you can't enter into the spot if it is not listed on your Tibet Travel Permit though you've obtained the allowance to visit Tsedang.

Generally, we could obtain our clients' Tibet Travel Permit about 5 days in advance of their departure date. For tourists preferred the Tibet train tours, we would send the scanned copy of your Tibet Travel Permits by email since you are only required to produce the scanned copy while boarding on the train to Lhasa from any domestic cities in China (such as Chongqing, Beijing, Guangzhou, Chengdu and Shanghai). For tourists willing to fly to Tibet from any domestic cities, we will send the original copy of your Tibet Travel Permit to your hotel by express delivery upon your arrival in your transit city for you can't even board on the plane to Tibet if you can't produce your original copy while check-in.

Tips for Tibet Travel Permit Application – Necessary Documents for Application

First of all, foreign visitors should provide valid passport and Chinese Tourist Visa. Except tourists planning to enter into Tibet via Nepal are required to apply for the Chinese Visa in the Chinese Embassy in Kathmandu, foreign tourists willing to enter into Tibet via any domestic cities could apply for the Chinese Visa from the Chinese Embassy in your country/city. Even the citizens from the countries had signed the visa-free agreement with China are required to apply for the Chinese Viasa in advance if you are planning to travel to Tibet. For example, Singaporeans are visa-free if you are planning to do a trip in mainland China less than 15 days, but you are required to obtain a China Visa if you want to visit Tibet.

In addition, foreign tourists planning a Tibet tour should also complete an application form includes information regarding your full name, nationality, age, gender, occupation and passport number. If you are holding Chinese Visa of other types (such as student visa or work visa) instead of the tourist visa, further certifications provided by your employer/college in China are also required for the application of Tibet Travel Permit.
