The 2nd Mountain Bike Tour of Basomtso will be held in Basomtso Forest Park of Nyingchi Prefecture from May 1st - 3rd, 2014.
The whole course is 41 kilometers long, and 70% of which is mountain cross-county track. The professional mountain bike track is 15.5 kilometers long and the amateurish mountain bike track is 12 kilometers long. The average altitude is 3600 meters high. This time, the competition will be held for 3 days.
Actually, the route is the famous pilgrim itinerary for local devout Tibetans. There are many religious decorations along the way such as pagoda, prayer flags, and Manidui. They are all Buddhist symbols for Tibetan people. The natural scenery is amazing and wonderful with beautiful flowers and magnificent snow mountains.

Nyingchi Prefecture is located in the southeastern part of Tibet Autonomous Region. It connects to Lhasa City in the west part and Shannan Prefecture in the southwest part. To the east, it connects to Qamdo Prefecture. To the north, it connects to Nagqu Prefecture. To the south, it adjoins India and Burma. It is famous for Yarlung Zangbo River.
