The Lhasa Gonggar Airport is located in Gonggar County, Shannan, 98 kilometers away from south of Lhasa. Now, there are international flights and domestic flights to Chengdu, Beijing, Shanghai, Chongqing, Xi'an, Xining, Guangzhou, Qamdo, Kunming and Kathmandu, Nepal in the Gonggar Airport. There are airport buses running between airport and air ticket booking office on Niangre Road, Lhasa. The whole journey from airport to Lhasa is about 1 hour, and the cost is about 35 CNY to 40 CNY. After coming out from the airport, there is a junction of three roads. The scheduled buses from Lhasa to Tsedang Town, Shannan will pass by there. The price of bus ticket is about 40 CNY per person. If you go with a group, you can charter a car from the airport to Tsedang Town, Shannan. The cost of Santana with four seats is about 150 CNY to 200 CNY.

Shannan Tour – Bus

There is no railway to Shannan. Except for waiting the scheduled bus from Lhasa to Tsedang at the conjunction of three roads when have Shannan tour, you also can take bus to Shannan from downtown of Lhasa. There are scheduled buses to Samye Monastery at the Jokhang Temple Square. If you get on the bus before 8 o'clock in the morning, you will arrive in Samye Monastery in the noon. The price of bus ticket is 50 CNY. In addition, there are long-distance buses run between Lhasa North Bus Station and Shannan, including Qushui, Gonggar, Zhanang, Sangri and Tsedang.
