It is approximately 177 kilometers long from Litang to Batang. The physical power expends a lot today. As there are no proper camping areas, hostels or hotels on the halfway, we kindly suggest tourists to depart Litang at 6 am around. It is about 87 kilometers from Litang to the bealock (narrow mountain pass) of Haizi Mountain. There are almost up hills. When you reach the narrow mountain pass, you will feel breathtaking of the amazing snow mountains sceneries around. There is a beautiful Haizi Lake down slope. The speed should be slow as the wind is very strong around the lake.
There are 6 tunnels after passing through Haizi Mountain without any light inside. Tourists should open the taillight or your flashlight. In consideration of the safety, you'd better pass through Haizi Mountain before 3 pm. We kindly suggest you to eat some solid food for lunch on halfway, and have dinner in Batang.
It is approximately 47 kilometers long from Batang to Hot Spring Mountain Villa. We could buy the necessities in Batang and depart there at 11 am around. We may reach Hot Spring Mountain Villa in the late afternoon.
Jinsha River is about 10 kilometers from Batang. The wonderful confluence scenery of the white river and the yellow river attracts lots of tourists. Ride along the Jinsha River about 21 kilometers we will reach Jinsha River Bridge. The other side of Jinsha River Bridge is the region of Tibet. We could overnight in Hot Spring Mountain Villa, but the dishes there are a little expensive.
Haitong Army Service Station is situated about 36 kilometers far from the Hot Spring Mountain Villa. It is an up hill. The road condition from Haitong Army Service Station to Mangkang is rough. Mangkang County is a small county of Tibet region. It is also the junction of Yunnan-Tibet Highway and Sichuan-Tibet Highway.
The whole route today is approximately 50 kilometers long. It is about 15 kilometers far from Mangkang to Lawula Mountain.
It is approximately 48 kilometers long from Rumei to Rongxu Army Service Station. Rumei town is located at the foot of the Gyueba Mountain. There are almost up slopes on the mountains. You'd better pay much attention to the cliffs of one side.
You could overnight in Dengba village on the way, but this village is small. You are kindly suggested to stay in a guesthouse, or camp in Rongxu Army Service Station.
