Northern Route of No Man's Land – Chengdu to Sakya

D1 Chengdu – Lhasa

It usually takes about 1 hour and 50 minutes to fly to Lhasa Gonggar Airport from Chengdu City. Our local Tibetan guide will meet you at the airport and escort you to the hotel. It is approximately 100 kilometers far from the airport to Lhasa City along Yarlung Zangbo River. The sceneries and attractions along the way are both amazing and breathtaking. It is almost the first impression of you to this mysterious land. At last, you will have the rest of time to adapt yourself in Tibet plateau.

D2 Lhasa – Gangbala Mountain – Yamdrok Lake – Karo-la Glacier – Gyantse – Shigatse

Gangbala Mountain is 4990 meters high. After passing Gangbala Mountain we will see the beautiful Yamdrok Lake. Yamdrok Lake stands about 4441 meters high and looks like a blue silk shining in the sun. It is too wonderful.

After lunch, we will go ahead to Gyantse by way of Karo-la Glacier. Gyantse City is almost the way which must be passed to Shigatse Prefecture from Lhasa City. And of course, it highlights very wonderful sceneries along the way, such as Zongshan Castle and Pala Manor – one of the noble manors in ancient times. The small Tibetan villages can be appreciated on both sides, too.

D3 Shigatse – Latse – Gyatsola Mountain Pass – Tingri – Mt. Everest

After passing Gyatsola Mountain, we will arrive in Tingri by way of Latse. Gyatsola Mountain is 5200 meters high, which is one of the highest mountain passes in Tibet. There is a 100-kilometer long gravel road to Mt. Everest from Tingri. Afterwards, we will reach Rongbuk Monastery which is the highest monastery throughout the world. Rongbuk Monastery stands 4900 meters high. It is regarded as the best place to overlook Mount Everest (Mount Qomolangma). You could trek to Mt. Everest Base Camp from Rongbuk Monastery, or take the Eco-car.

D4 Mt. Everest – Gangar – Gyirong – Sakya

With the first sunlight of Mt. Everest, we will pass through Himalaya Mountain Range. On the way to Sakya, we will have a chance to enjoy many highest mountains of the world, such as Lapugyikang Peak (7367m), Cho Oyu Peak (8201m), Lotse Peak (8516m), and Markalu Peak (8463m), etc. In addition, we could overlook Shisha Pangma Peak which is 8012 meters high. It is well known as it is the only one high mountain over 8000 meters high located in China totally.

Then we will drive to Sakya County by way of Gyirong County. Sakya County is 4500 meters high, acted as the important traffic hinge, and the transfer station of goods and materials.
