Almost buses in Lhasa regard Tibetan Hospital as the bus station and drive along permanent route. You should figure out where it will go before going on the bus. The No.1 and No.2 bus is to long distance bus station via Norbu Lingka; the No.3 and No.5 bus is to Drepung Monastery; and the No.4 bus is to Sera Monastery.

Lhasa Transportation – Taxi

You can take taxi everywhere in Lhasa. Although Lhasa downtown is small, it is very surprise that there are about 1100 taxies, mainly are Santana Sedan. The taxi in Lhasa is available for 24 hours. In the downtown, the price for the taxi is 10 RMB. You should bargain with the driver if you want to go to suburb areas. Of course, you also can rent the taxi for long distance, but the price will be higher.

Lhasa Transportation – Bicycle

In Lhasa, you can rent bicycle in some hotels and travel agencies. The bicycle can save time and money for you in the Lhasa tour, and very convenience. The price of mountain bike from 20 to 30 RMB per day based on its type; while the common bicycle is about 10 to 15 RMB per day based on its type. Foreign travelers need to mortgage the passport when rent the bicycle.

Lhasa Transportation – Rickshaw

In Lhasa, you can see rickshaws everywhere, and it will stop once you beckon. But it is only available in Lhasa downtown. The price of rickshaw is from 3 RMB to 20 RMB. If you want to go a far place, the rickshaw is economical and convenience.
