With the increasing of the transportation choices to Lhasa, the number of visitors comes to Tibet from different corners of the world keeps increasing recent years. The period between July and September is the most beautiful season on Tibet Plateau and also the best season for sightseeing in Tibet. During the world wide summer vacation, a large number of student visitors and their parents would like to spend some time in Tibet. The large passenger flow volume makes both the air tickets and train tickets to Lhasa are in large demand in summer. Hence, tourists willing to get a Lhasa train ticket are strongly suggested to book this trip with your Tibet tour operator at least 20 days in advance.

Though it takes at least 24 hours to get to Lhasa by train from Xining – the nearest city to Lhasa and it takes several more hours to get to Lhasa from any further domestic cities, such as Beijing and Shanghai, joining the Tibet train tours has been the choice for a large quantity of tourists both at home and abroad. The fascinating natural landscapes along the world famous Qinghai-Tibet Railway are very attractive for passengers. The magnificent Tuotuo River Bridge, Tsona Lake and Hoh Xil always leave tourists deep impression while the running wild yaks and Tibetan antelopes always make passengers' train journey not boring at all.

Tourists planning a Tibet tour in summer might know that a series of traditional Tibetan festivals would be celebrated between July and September, including the noted Shoton Festival, Damgxung Horse Racing Festival and the Shangshung Cultural Tourism Festival in Ngari Prefecture. These traditional festivals provide good chance for visitors to better explore the mysterious Tibetan civilization. Obviously, those celebrations make the Lhasa train ticket in larger demand every summer.

According to the staff in Lhasa Railway Station, the passenger flow volume is obviously larger between June and August compared to the other months. It is said that the passenger peak here will last to middle October. There are about 5000 passengers arrive in Lhasa Railway Station everyday in July and August, and there are at least 3500 tourists leave Lhasa via the railway station. The Lhasa train ticket from Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou are extremely in large demand. It is hard to get a hard berth ticket to Lhasa from these cities even you try to purchase the train ticket 18 days in advance of your departure date.

To ensure the safety of the passengers and the normal operation of the railway station, Lhasa Railway Station has put more manpower into the security work since the very beginning of July. As a professional Tibet tour operator, Tibet Tour could help our clients to book the Lhasa train ticket. To avoid the risk of missing the train ticket, tourists are strongly suggested to enter into Tibet by air and leave Tibet by train. It seems that will be a better and more reasonable trip plan in the peak season. The only problem is that the price of the air tickets is relatively higher than the train tickets and there is no discount in the peak season.
