Lhasa is the economical, political and economical center of Tibet Autonomous Region. It is the landing place for most of the tourists planning a Tibet tour. To better adapt to the high altitude, most of the tourists would like to make a visit to the scenic spots in Lhasa City before start further trip. There is a small number of tourists would firstly arrive in Nyingchi since there are direct flights between Nyingchi and Chongqing, Chengdu. Besides, some of the tourists would like to make a visit to Tsedang one the very day land on Gonggar Airport and finally back to Lhasa City to make the Lhasa tours. Most of the tourists would arrive in Lhasa by air or train.

Lhasa is one of the highest cities above the sea level. It is praised as Sunshine City for its long sunshine duration – the annual sunshine duration is more than 3000 hours. The highest temperature in Lhasa is 28? while the lowest temperature is -14 ?. There are 100-120 frost-free days a year. It is relatively dry in winter and spring. The air here is thin and there is a big temperature difference between day and night.

The best season to do the Lhasa tours is thought to be the months between May and October since it is relatively warm and humid. Generally, the peak season of Lhasa tours would come with the Chinese Labor Day in May. The temperature difference during this period would be relatively smaller compared to that in other seasons. But please note that the sunshine radiation would be pretty strong, tourist are highly advised to prepare necessary sun-blocking stuffs before enter into Tibet.
